USCA Associate Professor
Dr. Morris is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication and Emerging Media at the University of South Carolina Aiken. He leads the Digital Storytelling Abroad course.

Is any prior travel experience required for participation?
No, anyone is welcome to travel with the project as a community member or as a student earning college credit.
Is there any production experience required to contribute to the project?
No, we take people who are new to production work and creative projects. However, we want to ensure a baseline level of knowledge before we travel to maintain project standards.
How are the project’s locations selected?
The project and the Digital Storytelling Abroad course are designed to travel in unison with other study abroad courses offered by USCA. To capture not only local narratives but also those of the students and community members traveling outside the CSRA.
What is the cost of travel with the project?
That is a difficult question to answer, as it is a moving target. Travel costs change depending on the time of year and the location the project is visiting. We do our best to keep each program as affordable as possible.
Are there other study abroad opportunities at USCA for students and community members?
Absolutely! Dr. Morris offers a Video Games, Media, and Culture in Japan and the Digital Storytelling Abroad course, which changes location each year. USCA also offers several programs to other locations throughout the year.
